HRCM met with officials from the Maldives Police Service and Ministry of Gender and Family on 18 July 2018. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss: • Cases investigated by the Commission related to children and family, • The issue of child neglect, • Ameliorating and protective factors to decrease such cases. This meeting is a part of consecutive meetings held with institutions to discuss and determine measures that could be taken to address human rights issues identified by the Commission.
