Complaints can be lodged at the Commission via;

1. Toll free number 1424

  • Please give a call to the Commission’s toll free number 1424 between the hours 8:00-23:59 every day.

2. Letter

  • Please include all relevant information listed below along with relevant documents (if any) and send in writing to:

3. Complaints lodge form

  • The form is available at the reception or can be downloaded from the Commission’s website 

4. Email

  • Please include all relevant information listed below along with relevant documents (if any) and email to [email protected]

5. Visit to main office

  • Visit the Commission’s main office in Male’ or Southern Regional Office in S. Hithadhoo, Addu City and meet with an Investigation Officer to lodge a complaint.

Please ensure the following information is included in the complaint

  • Details of Complainant (full name, ID card number, present address, permanent address, contact number)
  • Details of Victim(s) (full name, ID card number, date of birth, present address, permanent address, contact number)
  • Details of Witness(s)  (full name, ID card number, present address, permanent address, contact number)
  • Detail of complaint (nature of complaint, date and time of incidence, alleged human rights violations, related organizations)
  • List of institutions the complaint was previously reported and actions taken against the complaint from those institutions.

Complaints can be lodged in both Dhivehi and English language and can be lodged anonymously via all means. If assistance is required, the Commission will provide assistance in filling out complaint forms.
