Monitoring Unit
The Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM) monitors and evaluates the extent to which the rights and freedoms guaranteed under the Constitution, domestic laws, regulations, and international treaties ratified by the State are upheld in the Maldives. The Commission documents these findings, prepares detailed reports, and submits them to relevant national and international agencies. Further, the commission through its monitoring function, oversees the implementation of recommendations provided to the State by United Nations committees following their review of treaties to which the Maldives is a party.
