HRCM conducts training for Police Custodial Officers

The Human Rights Commission of the Maldives conducted a training for Police Custodial Officers on the 16th of June in Iskandar Koshi.

The purpose of this training is to create awareness among the Police Custodial Officers on the principles of human rights, to encourage adhering to human rights principles when making regulations of the institutions under State care and to create a rights friendly culture among Officers who deal with prisoners so that prisoners are not subjected to inhuman degrading treatment.

The training was attended by 20 Police Custodial Officers.
